Privacy Policy
Effective date: 12 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Yap60 ("Yap60", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information. It applies to the Yap60 iPhone app and this website.
Who we are
Yap60 is operated by Luke Tervit. You can contact us at luketervit@gmail.com.
What Yap60 does
Yap60 is a daily speaking-practice app. You answer one prompt in 60 seconds and receive AI-generated feedback on clarity, filler words, structure, pace, and suggested rewrites.
Information we collect
- Account and contact information (email address).
- Onboarding profile answers you provide.
- Audio recordings you create in the app.
- Transcripts generated from your audio.
- AI feedback and analysis results.
- Usage and device data (app version, device model, OS version, crash and performance data).
- Subscription status from Apple / our subscription provider (e.g. RevenueCat) if used.
- Messages you send through our contact and support forms.
How we use information
- Provide speech analysis and AI feedback.
- Personalise prompts, drills and feedback over time.
- Maintain streaks, progress and your history.
- Respond to support, billing, and privacy requests.
- Improve safety, reliability and quality of the service.
- Manage subscriptions and prevent abuse.
Audio and transcript handling
- Audio is used to transcribe and analyse your answer.
- Yap60 does not save raw audio in your in-app history by default after submission, but audio is sent to transcription infrastructure for processing.
- Transcripts, feedback, and progress data may be retained so you can review history if transcript retention is enabled.
- You can delete transcripts, local history, local app data, and account-linked data in the app, and you can request deletion through this website.
AI processing
Audio, transcripts, prompts, and related context may be sent to third-party transcription and AI providers to generate feedback. We configure providers to limit use of your data where supported. We do not claim providers never use data for training; we use providers that contractually restrict such use where available.
Sharing
You control what you share from Yap60. By default, share cards do not include your raw audio or full transcript.
Payments
Apple processes App Store payments. Yap60 does not receive your full card details. We may receive subscription status (active, trial, cancelled) so we can unlock premium features.
Legal bases (UK / EU)
- Performance of a contract — to provide the service you signed up for.
- Consent — where required, for example for optional features.
- Legitimate interests — to keep the service secure, reliable, and improve it.
- Legal obligations — where the law requires us to retain or disclose data.
Data retention
- Local and app data is retained until you delete it.
- Support and contact data is retained as needed to respond and keep records.
- On account deletion we delete or anonymise associated data within a reasonable period.
Your rights
- Access a copy of your data.
- Request deletion.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent at any time.
Children
Yap60 is not intended for children under 13.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, but no system is perfectly secure.
International transfers
Your data may be processed outside your country, including in the US, where our AI and infrastructure providers operate. We rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards where required.
Third-party services
Yap60 relies on services including Apple (App Store, payments), AI/transcription providers, and infrastructure providers. Their use of your data is governed by their own policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or on this site.
